So there I am at the MoB's annual display day and I end up in a long conversation with our Ray about all matters modelling and aeronautical. During this conversation he convinces me that there were no better looking aeroplanes in the world than the RNZAF's Boeing 727-100 and the RAAF's Boeing 707-338. I listened to him, and here is the result just turned up in my mail box.

Before I talked to Ray I had not a thought of making military civil aeroplanes and I'm not sure that it is a good idea. But he talked me into it, the decal sheets anyhow. The Roden 720s are not his fault, however. In due course they will turn into a Braniff 720, a Qantas 707-138 and a Qantas 707-138B.

The beginnings of my Military airliner collection.

And after watching the French AF1 landing this morning I tink I need to break out another A340 and start chopping!

I must say Leigh......I am very impressed. As Ray.S will attest the realm of Military/Government operated Airliners opens up a whole new world of exciting and exotic modelling opportunities and possibilities.
After you complete your RAAF 707 and RNZAF 727, you might want consider other strikingly beautiful Military Airliners such as white top RAF VC-10s and L1011s, Spanish Air Force 707s and DC-8s or a Canadian Armed Forces 707.....just to name a very few of your options

By the way, my next two RAAF 707s are planned to be the Qantas/RAAF and Worldways/RAAF hybrid colour schemes.

Hi Leigh

Oh yes I have "danced with the Devil" in this regard - I refer to it as the MEMADS or modelling enhanced mutually assured destruction syndrome. Ray and I have launched several rather expensive 1/32 racer nuke strikes and counter strikes in recent times and whilst the stash is looked fan-freakintastic, the bank balance or rather the credit card bill isn't! I am now in a position whereby the only way I can hope to finish all these beauties I have in my stash is for some kind of miracle in medical science comes along to extend my life by about 50 years!

You Leigh at lease have a incredible and very enviable modelling production output, so I think you will avoid the "MEMADS" syndrome!
