Gumtree Model Purchase

About 2 weeks ago I was outbid on an Ebay auction of a pretty shabby 1/72 Fokker Fellowship F28 model which was in Australian Dept of Aviation livery I was a bit disappointed but it wasnt worth more than 200 bucks to me and it needed restoration. A week later and I was looking at gumtree to see if any kits were going cheap (they never are always asking tell them they are dreaming prices and never selling them) One of my search terms was "aeroplane" and found a listing of "toy aeroplanes".
I was bored, I looked. boring! the picture was one of those cheap push together qantas 747s you can buy at airports, still bored I looked at the next picture hmmm that looks better an A300 in TAA delivery scheme, next picture holy crap a Skywest Jetstream on a stand! All for 25 bucks. I had no idea of the Jetstream models lineage but was prepared to take the chance and bought it.
It is a Spacemodels (UK) 1/48 solid resin model, no tailplane but otherwise in reasonable nick,I will restore it and be very happy to have i in my display cabinet, I can't think that many of these would have been produced.
The A300 is also solid resin, no manufactures mark other than an out of scale airbus industries logo each side of the fin. one tailplane is broken and an engine is missing, I can fix it but not sure it is worthwhile.

Am really pleased with the Jetstream though!

Good score there Wal.
Spacemodels is a highly regarded brand by collectors. And your are right in that Spacemodels don't produce to many of any of their models as they exclusively produce corporate models for the industry and not for the mass market/public.
Just a little info on your A300. It is a 1:200 sold resin model produced by a now defunct company called Airjet Advance Models in the USA. These were commissioned by TAA as "give-away" models to customers, suppliers, and staff to commemorate the introduction into service of the TAA Airbus A300. While crude by today's standards, the model was most sought-after by collectors, (and good-condition ones are still highly desirable). Here is mine for comparative purposes:

As far as repairing it is concerned, if you can get yourself a cheap Hasegawa 1:200 A300 kit you may be able to source the parts you need out of that.

I was also one of the unsuccessful bidders on the CAA/DoA/DoT F-28. She was certainly in poor condition but was a prime candidate for refurb.

I do have a similar near mint-condition Ansett F-28 though, and she is the pride of my Ansett fleet.
