Mr Surfacer question

Hi folks,
Just been working on the 1:100 Entex/Nitto Concorde prototype, and have been applying some hand-brushed liquid Mr Surfacer to fill some little hair-line cracks and gaps. What's the best way to clean brushes after using liquid Mr Surfacer. And for that matter, what's the best way to thin liquid Mr Surfacer???

To clean brushes I use everyday GP thinners. As for thinning it I use the Gunze thinners :)

I only use toothpicks for that stuff.

I use lacquer thinner from Bunnings for clean up (airbrush and hairy sticks). The Gunze Mr Color Thinner (levelling or not) is definitely the way to go for thinning.

What is "GP" thinners?

That'd be "General Purpose", Kev..

Thanks, Damo. It sounds odd, but I've never heard of such a thing! Is it petroleum-based stuff, like turps or mineral spirits?

It's petroleum based Kev and it's everywhere from Supercheap to Bunnings :)

Usually you can get either General Purpose Thinners or Premium Thinners. I use GP thinners for brush cleaning etc, and use the Premium Thinners for over-coating of high gloss finishes, (a really good spray painters trick that Knotty taught me).
