Hi All,

Do we have any members whom live in Darwin or have the pictures of the only B-52H that is located in the Darwin Avaition Museum.
As a young lad i was able to see this monster coming into darwin airport. it was the nosie aircraft i had ever heard.

I remember the B-52's and KC-135's visiting Darwin all the time. You could see the older models for miles after they took off :)

Hi Scoops

Never seen the BUFF in Darwin, just the one's that visit us down here every second year at Avalon. One of my most bizarre conversations at Avalon involved chatting to a young BUFF navigator standing under the open bomb bay about the movie "Dr. Stangelove". This current generation of BUFF crews know all about this movie.

Major T. J. "King" Kong: Well, boys, we got three engines out, we got more holes in us than a horse trader's mule, the radio is gone and we're leaking fuel and if we was flying any lower why we'd need sleigh bells on this thing... but we got one little budge on them Rooskies. At this height why they might harpoon us but they dang sure ain't gonna spot us on no radar screen!

Of not much use to modellers, but it's a BUFF!
