What's your 12 month build plan?

Hey all

Just thought I would start a topic to discuss our build plan for the next 12 months. I jumped onto Kev's Civil post :? , so I thought it best to start a separate topic to discuss what we all plan to build over the next 12 months.

Here's my plan:

1. Finish 1/32 Trumpeter Me-262-A1 - to be finished in EKdo 262 markings - 40% finished
2. Finish 1/32 Airshow Models Pitts Bulldog (late Jim Leroy) - 15% finished.
3. Italeri 1/32 F-104 to be finished as a NASA F-104N flown by Joe Walker - fatally killed colliding with a XB-70 for a GE photo shoot.
4. Roden 1/48 T-28D - to be finished as a Raven FAC in Laos.
5. Must Have! 1/48 A-26 to be finished as a A-26K "Nimrod"
6. Finish 1/48 A-Model Yak-52 "Resident Evil" - 85% finished.

It's a hugely ambitious plan and I will be lucky to finish half of what I'm setting out to do. I must put more time into modelling this coming year - that's the plan anyway. I did get a buzz finishing that DOSAAF Yak and am still riding the high of seeing all that beautiful work at Expo - always great inspiration!

Be interesting to see how we all fair in 12 months time! :D So what's your plan?

Cheers

Adam

No point me planning cos I don't know what I'm doing tomorrow. That's a lie. I'm sorting out my model room tomorrow. But you get the idea. I can say for a certainty though that the following (all currently WIP's) will be completed:-

1/48 Hasegawa Ki-27 Nate
1/72 Airfix A-4B Argy Skyhawk
1/72 Italeri civvie F-104
1/48 Hasegawa Racing Macchi C.202
1/72 Airfix civvie Spitfire MkIX
1/72 Frog DH Hornet
1/72 Airfix Fokker F-27 VH-TFE
and hopefully 1/144 Airfix 727

These are in addition to any others I may start as well

I have to admit it, the A380 is destroying my modelling mojo at the moment.
I'm working on a Grumman Wildcat and a Bushmaster at the moment too which is helping, but the albatross of an airliner is still hanging around my neck.

After the above three are done, I have big plans for two (yes two) 1/48 Tamiya Bristol Beaufighters, an inflight 1/48 F-111, a 1/72 Caribou with scratch built interior and open rear door, a 1/48 Fairey Gannet and a 1/48 Kinetic Mirage III O.

I'm sure a couple more divine inspirations will pop in there too.

My 12 month plan is to try and get some of the "curtain rail of doom" projects finished, (including the US Navy Convair 880, the NASA Convair 990, the Australian Airlines Fokker F-27, and the BOAC/Qantas hybrid Britannia just to name a few).
I would also like to get a couple of racers finished for the new category next year, (including the 1:48 JPS Spitty).
In reality though, I will just be happy to finish anything :D .

I'll be happy if I can get my 1/32 birdcage Corsair conversion even halfway done by then. I've also got a 1/48 ICM Spitfire 9 in primer, waiting for a paint job and decals. I may push on with that one first, just to get my momentum back (haven't been at the workbench in over 6 weeks now). Beyond that, I have a very longstanding 1/32 Fw 190S conversion to return to, along with a full rebuild of an old 1/48 Monogram P-40. As mentioned elsewhere, I'm keen to break out another airliner too, and it'll probably be the Minicraft C-97 kit in Pan Am livery. But I'm also toying with the idea of starting a build review of the new 1/32 Mosquito kit from HK Models.

So many kits, so little time!

My modelling year runs from April to April, which is the month of our annual display. Last year I set myself the target of eight 1/144 Boeing 747s and eight Lightnings and managed to make them, plus a few other things. So, this modelling year's target is to complete ten Boeing 727s and nine Lightnings. There will also be a number of other things, mainly French if I can get myself motivated. There's also an Armstrong Whitworth Atlanta that I've been working on for years that is nearing completion and then a vacform 1/144 Sikorsky S.38 that I'd like to push ahead on, though probably not finish.

There, now I've said it. All I have to do is do it.

To finish something, anything. I have too much on the go.
Hughes 500NTR, Latecoere 631, Mirage IV, Seagull, Thunderbirds T-33, 1908 Antoinette, Sea Fury, UH-1D, C-17, A330, plus one or two more planes. And then there's the cars, at least 15 on the go.

My twelve month plan? The list is long and distinguished!

Looking at what I have on the workbench at the moment and the approximate level of completion:

Rumpler C.VI %80
Brewster Buffalo %60
Super Hornet %50
CAC Sabre %70
Lightning F.1 %90
Macchi MC72 %30
Komet ME-163 %30

I dare say I will have a few of those if not all done within the next 12 months.

There are a few others that may form part of the plan as well plus the old `sneeze and its done' kits that seem to interrupt the build schedule along the way.

Eric.

I would just like to get something finished this year. On my 'shelf of doom' are a 727, several 737s and 767s, an A340 (just need to find which box I put the decals in), a Stuka, a Gotham City police car and a McLaren F1 car.
