Look what I just bought! It's the Must Have 1/48 A-26 Invader. I will convert it to a A-26K "Nimrod" - the most Bad Ass twin of all time! This will go with my A-1J "Spad" and to be built T-28D "Raven" - as part of my Vietnam theme. Hey, I figured most of you guys drove home with a pile of models in the boot after Expo - time for a treat for Adam!
Just went bananas buying bits for the T-28 too - AAARRRGGGHHHH! So much for my sticking to 1/32 from now on!

Where's the racing stripes?

Sometimes you've just got to build something seriously BAD ASS! Imagine flying one of these at night over the Ho Chi Minh Trail killing trucks with 8 x 50 Cal's, napalm, CBU's, etc, etc.
Only strips are the yellow bands on the bombs and the red bands on the nap!

Excellent buy.....but needs to be a fire bomber !!!! (remember the "CA" in A/CAM stands for Civil Aircraft ).
Draw Decals have just released some excellent A-26 Fire Bomber decals.

This is a 1:72 scale replica of an Invader once owned by a friend. I was scheduled to be co-pilot on it to the CAF Air Show in Texas but a Bad-Assed ex got in the way. Notice the F-86 tail to the left...he owned that as well

Hey, your ex or his ex? Sounds like a tale of woe! I just love the A-26.

I'm pretty well close to having all the bits I need to build this A-26A/B-26K Counter Invader. All I have to do is some scratch building in the cockpit to make it a dual seater. All the other parts I have now including the decals. Getting the Cutting Edge parts and the decals cost a small fortune, but I just have to build this version in honour of the aircrew who flew over the Trail at night and died there. This aeroplane was the ultimate truck killing machine over the Trail.

Now that's what I call a friend - with a F-86 and a A-26 - that is uber cool! A friend of a friend owns two Extra 330's here. He's into aircraft leasing so his Extra's are under the umbrella of his company with his company name plastered all over his Extras. He cheered me up recently at the big Avalon airshow here by saying he had to give up flying for 17 years whilst his kids were educated. Hmm, maybe this is how I can own a aeroplane again in the future - better call the accountant! All HRT Paul's talk about buying a Tiger Moth has gotten me all teary eyed over the loss of my Laser.
