I have been trying to think of a way I can be part of this... for the most part I am not into WIFs and this type of theme because it's not something I want on my shelf. So I started think about other aeroplane TV stars, anyone old enough to remember Jet Jackson the flying commando and his "Silver Dart" that's one I could so...nice jet that. What about Mad Mad world Beech 18 that flies through the sign, wouldnt that make a great dio!...hmmm thinking

Very cool Wal!!!
The beauty of this display theme is that it offers such diverse potential.
The aircraft can be fictitious or real depending on if your subject-of-choice has appeared in movies, documentaries, or even commercials.

Just scored the new Revell PT-17 Stearman. So that will be turned into this:

It is from the film Tora Tora Tora. There wasn't actually a Stearman flying on the morning of the attack on Pearl Harbour. There was a female instructor flying (two actually) at the time with a student but they were in an Interstate Cadet. They were fired upon whilst on finals to land at John Rodgers Airport. Her name was Cornelia Fort, who later went on to become a WASP but died in an accident in 1944. The actual aircraft that got into a formation of enemy aircraft was an Aeronca and another Aeronca had a student by the name of Jimmy!

Still a good scene.

Hey WAL

Great subjects - That Beech 18 in "It's a MAD MAD world" will be brilliant! The other is a D-558 II isn't it? Now there is a aeroplane flown by real test pilots like Bill Bridgeman, Marion Carl, Joe Walker, John McKay and of course Scott Crossfield.

I bought this kit the other day. Looks like a great kit in the box. As rigging a biplane scares the shit outta me I thought this might be a good intro into it. Besides I've always liked the look of it :)

Same, have not done any rigging but I have plently of kits that do. I saw a build thread on Finscale and the bloke rigged it before putting the top wing on. Might be the way to go on this one. Agree it is a nice kit. New tool as well.

Here is another gem of an idea:

I can just imagine that is Stu, Salty & myself at the 45 second mark! Insert joke about cockpits!

Now is there a Jetranger kit with floats on the market?
