I've been a little busy of late but still found time to increase the stash.

Another Spitfire to be converted to a PR aircraft

This'll be a Battle of Britain aircraft

The start of my new "WW2 aircraft from/over POM" theme. Single engine will be 1/48 and multi engine will be in 1/72

I picked up these two at PX2019 in Brisbane last weekend. I didn't have the funds to buy the 1/20 Nichimo 172 on offer there but at least I have seen one in the flesh now.

Contemplating building a PSA 1011 with a separate display of the lounge. They were the only airline to order that option and I think only 3 were built... a couple more were ordered IIRC but the oil emgargo thingy hit so they were canceled while some other airline picked up the contract for the remaining two birds.

I'm almost certain this is beyond my skill level but I could probably attempt it. Would be pretty neat!

I also found out that my baby and the best plane I have ever worked on, C-47 VH-MMA (ex A65-13 Callsign VHCTL) actually served in 34Sqn during WW2 in PNG and most possibly into POM. She also flew for Air Niugini as well. I was stoked to say the least. I now have another scheme to do the old girl in so I bought the following decals for it
Image

I also got a set of R1803's for a 1/48 version of MMA I wanna do but not sure they'll cut it.
Image

I have been looking around for 1/48 engines for her as I want to have the cowls removed on one engine so detail is important. This is a 1/72 R1830 but i'd love a 1/48 version of this for MMA

The posty has just delivered more goodies for my "Air War over Port Moresby" theme this morning.

Firstly a very nice B-25
Image

And then we have this beauty. It will be RAAF Dakota A65-13 which also just happens to be VH-MMA based in Darwin and the best plane I've ever worked on.
Image
This is her in her WW2 colours so she'll fit into the above theme perfectly.

Is that B-25 a re-release of their earlier one?
Pretending to do it TAC style with the big boys since 1987
Also, we don't need no steenkin' VLATs!
