We’ll see. Maybe I’ll head down and pick one up today. There’s just isn’t a scheme I would like to do.

Hey Modelbear

I see you bought a Zlin-50L. I built the Zlin-50M some time ago. The "M" is the original Zlin-50 with the in-line inverted Avia engine - with less power than the Lycoming 540 as featured in the "L", I wanted to build the M as it looks more Eastern European. It's not a bad kit - a little crude as you will find, but most definitely buildable. The Zlin-50 is one of those iconic aerobatic aeroplanes - built at a time when there was a lot of national pride associated with competing in Unlimited Aerobatics - particularly between European nations.

Here's mine.

Nice build on the Z-50M there. I've got to agree that the nose does give it a distinctive look - interesting but not what I would call pretty. What paint did you use for the silver on the build?

I have a very nice resin intake for #2 engine that I think you'll need to cast ;)

Parcel from Kingkit finally arrived from the UK. Packaging could be slightly better, but overall I am very pleased with them. I'd be happy to order from Kingkit again. 8-) :)

Anyway, these two. The Il-96 apparently has no landing gear but whatever. Price was good. Price was also good on the Tu-334! That's one of them self made kits from Tupolev. How cool is it that an airplane manufacturer also makes kits of their own planes?!?!?

Next up, an ICM Tu-144. And....

Tu-144...... man.... so cool. Price was good again so I snapped it up.

The Friendship is really neat, though, more so for $23 after shipping (separate seller). It's U.S. ARMY aircraft, for one. That's pretty neat. It's difficult to find something other than whirly-birds or light aircraft and good luck finding those light aircraft actually modelled and with Army transfers. Not only that, but before he passed my pops had actually rec'd a big picture thing from the current team, signed and all that, at some ceremony thing for the Special Forces Association. Pops was former USAF then US ARMY Rangers and Special Forces (Green Beret) 77th. Served time in Korea and all that. Needless to say, this is a pretty special subject so I am thrilled to have that F-27.

Also one I got last week, not sure I posted it and not my picture but:

I have some more interesting stuff on the way, too.

Well ... unfortunately not the Esci one. Probably better off wacking those decals on an Airfix kit - less to fix up.

Esci really managed to stuff up a few subjects unfortunately - how they got their Hercules so wrong is beyond me.

Actually, for all intents and purposes, the Esci kit is the better of the two 1:72 Fokker Friendships.

Well you could do a Whiff or your own version of the modern retro roo scheme on the "old" 732?
