I had a look at the new 1/144 Roden C-5B today. Lookis like a nice kit but at $140 there ain't no way I'm buyin one. That's 2 Tamiya 1/48 F-16's for my aggressor theme so no thanks.

Graeme is building both the Exotic and High Planes Mirage kits at the moment and finds the High Planes one goes together a lot better.

Well glue sniffers, here's the latest purchases since my last post.

A civvie Meteor mmmm
Image

This will be an RAAF Miracle.
Image

There are a couple of nice civvie schemes for this. Got the last one from Red Roo.
Image

Another purchase from Red Roo. Even if the kit isn't the best, the decals are worth it.
Image

Yet another model for the ever growing Falklands theme I have.
Image

Bought on a whim and now I have Australian Army Kiowa decals.
Image

Another impulse buy so now I guess I need to buy a bit of black paint :o
Image

This is gonna be a DRAKEN aggressor. I just need to find an A-4K Scooter that isn't gonna cost 2 kids and a kidney to do as a DRAKEN aircraft as well.

This lot makes over 20 models in the last 5 months. I'm not going to attempt to stop buying any kits until April next year. That way I might actually finish a few more.

Well this one is really BIG :

You can bet your House that it will be one of those kits that will never be built (especially as before I bought this I had my eye on the Anigrand Kit/s of the "A" and "B"!).

Scored myself one of these which arrived yesterday. Been after one for awhile and got this for the right price - less than half that of some insane prices being offered out of Japan!

I have a soft spot for the F-16 and did get to see the Thunderbirds when they performed over Brighton Beach here back in the 80's. I snuck away from work and in hindsight I really should of taken the boss, as he was ex-RAAF and loved his aeroplanes as well - dumb on my part at the time.

It's a amazing kit and I will get some "bling" to lift the cockpit, wheel bay and tail end - oh no, more Aires fun in the future - AARRRGGGHHHH! Tamiya is perfectly accurate, but is just soft in detail in these areas. Photo below courtesy of IPMS Deutschland - borrowed off web.
