In all honesty, I enter my models at expo to show off my work, catch up with friends, and be inspired. I enter the competion with little to no expectation of winning and am always surprised, given the competition, when I place. It’s a great honour and something that sometimes makes me wonder what I did to be so lucky. Of course you have to give it your best, as with everything you do in life, otherwise you’re going in half assed. So I aim high, do the best I can with both the models and my references and I roll the dice. My list above is aiming high. I won’t even start half of those kits, but failing to plan is planning to fail. That’s it. I’m now heading in to the office to do what I love doing. Building models and sharing my work with others.

I'm certainly not being too serious about it either mate. It's about having fun for me :)

Oh yeh of course, I didn't sorta mean it like that, I just been entering pretty much knowing I wasn't in contention for placing. This year I'll make more of an effort to keep my instructions and stuff when entering next year to at leave give myself the chance of a place.

I keep meaning to build a warship too. I've got a few large ships in 1/350; Tirpitz, Prince of Wales, Prinz Eugen and Chikuma.

I have three to build now. HMAS Vendetta, Aircraft Carrier HMAS Melbourne and FFG HMAS Melbourne. The FFG will probably first off the rack, I'm just waiting on Russ at Defence Models Australia to release his FFG update set for Melbourne. With the already built Collins Class Sub I did last year, I'll have a nice little Flotilla one day.

I have a bit of a confession to make.....I have always had a bit of a "thing" for the big Ocean Liners. There is nothing more stately, graceful, and majestic then a big, beautiful Ocean Liner. When I saw what the idiot Captain needlessly did to his beautiful ship the Costa Concordia I was very sad, as she did not deserve that fate. I remember also being very pleased that the Canberra escaped her Falkland Islands war service unscathed.
But none of this means that I am going to build a ship :D .

PS: I even used to love watching the Pacific Princess on the Love Boat TV series
