Great show over the w/e - well done Brad! I hope that curry and scotch did it's thing on your return home mate! This is one great model comp and it's great to see it growing - let's face it the venue is kick ass!

It was great chatting up with Kev, Uncle Les, Troy, HRT Paul and RB Paul and Michel as well. Les, HRT Paul and Troy took home about half the trophies it seemed with Uncle Les taking home the most prestigious "Big Bird" - well done and very well deserved!

Keith advised that the next theme for the show is Meteors - time to start building folks! I'll post some photos when I get around to setting up a Flickr account - anyone got any to post in the meantime?

Great show again this year Brad. Its just getting bigger and better. Its so awesome to have a model show whilst being surrounded by the real things.

Great show and the first I've been able to attend since forever. Congrats to those who organised it. I still dunno how I managed to get a couple of trophies considering the standard of competiton. Congrats to all those that scored the shiny stuff and especially Uncle Les for best in show with his Macchi though that was a forgone conclusion IMO. As for the Meteor theme next year, I have the following kits:-

I'll leave others to do the Australian F.8's as I find plain silver a bit boring and besides I like pretty colours. Might end up being a Belgian one with dayglo all over it.


Definitly gonna be the civvie one in this boxing. I might get another to do either a white RAAF one or a silver and yellow Belgian one.


This is gonna be an Argy one as they had a few nice schemes on their F.4's

Thanks for the kind words guys and thanks for coming down too. I think the feeling has come back to my feet after 3 days of constantly being up and down walking around the place. It was our most successful Wings since we rebooted. 104 entries from 35 competitors and over 200 visitors came through.

As mentioned next years theme category is 'Make a Meteor'. It doesn't have to be an Aussie one, so get building those Syrian or target tug Meteors! I'm also continuing with the WW1 category and we have a new category; 'Flak', for anti aircraft guns, missiles and radar systems.
