Hi guys,
OK.....so it is now April and Model Expo is only 2 months away.
Time to start prep for our club display.
As you may or may not be aware, the theme of this year's display is
Airliners / Civil Aircraft: TV and Movie Stars
The logistics of the actual display area will be similar to last year ie; two tables with a dark blue cloth table cover, plus an elevated back shelf (courtesy of Knotty).
The A/CAM cloth banner will be prominently hang-displayed down the front of the tables, as per last year, (as amply highlighted by some regular A/CAMers in these photos)
but there will also be another banner/poster advertising the theme of the display. This will also hang on the front of the tables.
As to how I envisage the actual displayed model aircraft will be presented....I am thinking simply that the aircraft should be sat on the table with a colour plate of the movie/TV show, (easily sourced on the net ), in front of it as per below
The advantage here is that " less is more" in that the colour plate effectively tells the story of the individual model.
On reflection, I don't think that there should be a hard and fast rule on the dimensions of the colour plate, but rather it should simply be in proportion to the model, so as not to overpower it.....for example the 707 above is 1:200 scale.
Also...lets not forget to have max effort in supporting the new category (see Model Expo site for details) as the Model Expo committee did create the new category primarily for us.
