Postby erussell » Sun Aug 24, 2014 3:18 pm

As previously noted, a range of Spitfires in civilian service, trainers, air racers and utility aircraft.
There was some interest expressed previously, they are now available.

The AZ kits have had good reviews, are quite accurate and look like easy builds. Good quality colourful decals.

Wrong scale...1/48 would have been nice.

They are in fact the correct scale for most modellers but an accomplished modeller can make a 1/48 model (of the TR.9 version at least ..........)

This review is rather kinder than some I have read. This is one for the patient and experienced modeller. It's still available from Hannants

http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/BRIG4801

and probably other places. It doesn't come with civilian decals but if you have the AZ ones it should be possible to upscale them and print them on an Alps printer or similar machine.

A really decent modeller could do a TR.8 conversion from the Brigade conversion.

Accomplished and decent are not really associated with my modelling Ed    More like simple and lazy :D :D :D :D

One can be accomplished and decent and also simple and lazy. I have seen your work - I don't doubt you could do this conversion. However the chances are you wouldn't (like me) want to put that sort of effort into something that crude.
If I really wanted one of these in 1/48 I'd have no hesitation in tackling it.
