What is this a model of? (I know....do you?)

Some hints:

It was built in 1971 by a well-known aircraft manufacturer.
There was only one ever built.
It was a demonstrator aircraft.

I think the tails will at least give away the manufacturer..

Well, the tail booms reminded me of a Cessna 337 / O-2, and I noted what looked like a ducted fan amongst the parts shown.

A Google Image search for Cessna fan prototype resulted with the sixth pic listed as a 3-view drawing and a Wikipedia link.

So, not nerdy per-se - just smug about my resourcefulness! ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)
