"Future" Re-branded (again!)

Postby SpaceRanger » Sat Feb 03, 2018 2:07 am

First it was "Future." Then it was "Pledge with Future Shine." Then it was "Pledge Floor Care Multi-Surface Finish." Now it's "Pledge revive it":

Thanks to Paul Boyer for originally pointing this out on Hyperscale.

Note: the brand names listed above apply only in the US. The new name will probably be different depending on what part of the world you live in.

Thanks Michael, it is not available here in Australia.

But good to know next time I am shopping in the US! :D

Personally, I've read about way too many people having issues with Future - I can't see the advantage of using it for anything other than making canopies nice and sparkly. I've never had issues with Gunze gloss or Tamiya gloss, so I just don't get the attraction with Future? I've ordered some AK product for canopies and will post results on this product once tested.

I tried a Humbrol acrylic Gloss - smelt the same as Future. It was awful - not even worth using on canopies either. Into the bin it went.

All "acrylics" are not equal. But I don't use "Future" for anything but coating canopies myself.

Totally agreed on both points sir! My bottle of AK "Glass Coat Gauzy Agent" has arrived. It is supposed to be for coating canopies only - or any other "glass/clear" parts. It has a milky look about it which is interesting - obviously goes clear when dry! ;) I'll do a review of this product shortly.

Sparkly canopies is a subject close to my heart - as someone who over the years has put in a fair share of elbow grease using Plexus to get a nice sparkly and clear canopy on 1:1 scale - only to be ruined in flight by a leaking prop seal - AAARRRGGGHHHH (but that's another story!). 8-)

I am still using an Australian product called Paast which is no longer available, should last me for the everything I will use it for.
