Aircraft ID assitsance and details needed

Postby tor lives » Sun Oct 22, 2017 3:51 pm

Hi guys,
While neither an airliner or indeed a civil aircraft, I was wondering if I could perhaps call upon the collective brilliance and knowledge of the A/CAM community to help me identify this aircraft....she is obviously WW1 era and I would like to try a refurb on her to practice my rigging skills :

Any other pertinent info or details would also be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Looks like an Airco DH-2 with the 100HP Gnome Monosoupape engine. (the photo on the page shows it with the rotary..)
Pretending to do it TAC style with the big boys since 1987
Also, we don't need no steenkin' VLATs!

You're right. The two aircraft look fairly similar..

That one's a Hannover CL III A (it says so on the side of the fuselage.. Han CLIIIA, LH side near the tail.)

Indeed it is. Good pick up young Damo. I have just been doing some research....seems some parts are missing off the model :? .
She appears to be a 1st generation multi-role Fighter-Bomber.

The FE look like it was a vacform, the fuselage on that FE2b is very well done i'm thinking it was a Formaplane kit, would have been a lovely model in it's day, maybe do it as a crash diorama.
The Hannover is missing the upper tailplane, as they had biplane tailplanes, that could well be the old Airfix kit
