Apologies if these have been posted before but for those who haven't seen them there are a fair few photos of the Mosquitos at the bottom of this page :

Graeme H, my buddy, who is writing the book here in Canada, about Spartan would love to know who the engineer was and if there is any way possible to make contact for an interview. The book Robert is writing will be the definitive resource to Spartan Air Services, that made Canada what it is today. Robert is a wonderful man and extremely in the know when it comes to Spartan...... if there is ANY way possible to put Robert and the Spartan engineer together it would be awesome.... feel free to p.m. me , I would also love to hear from you, we at the Calgary Mosquito Society are on the trail to preserve the last Spartan Mossie............if anyone can help, I'm all ears..... hoping

Cheers boys

Paul those are the single stage engines on your shot, the ones on the link by biggu are the 2 stage ones, so the decals for those may not be suitable, but the Thunderbird ones are good for the Tamiya kit

The difference are the 2 stage engines have an extra intake on the lower part of the cowl, the earlier ones are a smooth line to the prop spinner

Yes, the Spartan Mosquitoes were all B Mk35 with the two stage Merlin's, so yes indeed they had the extra air intake blow the props and had longer engine nacelles due to the extra engine bits....

Graeme can you p.m. me about the Spartan engineer??

Yeah I know bout the differences. I just realised that my link is for a Kenting Mossie, not a Spartan machine. So I'm still good to go on that one. It seems I now need to find a way of making a B35 for a Spartan aircraft. Bloody hell this never ends

I managed to get a set of CMK two stage Merlins from Sprue brothers for the 1/48 scale Tamiya Mosquito, they look really good, but according to some they are a little bit short in length, but they look good enough for my shelf....

https://store.spruebrothers.com/searchr ... &brand=CMK they show out of stock at the moment, but the kit is good.....

I managed to get a set from JasonC from Britmodeller and they are fantasic. They weren't cheap but they're the correct length and suited to the Tamiya 1/48 kit. Not sure if he has any more left. This is his thread :)
