ScaleACT15 Competition

Postby RayS » Sun Nov 15, 2015 9:46 pm

Just back from ScaleACT.

Almost 370 entries from 93 entrants. Quality was outstanding.

Category details on the ACTSMS website.

Great to catch up with the 'out of towners' :D Only 5 or so in the civil aircraft category. I managed 2nd for the Luftwaffe A340 and 3rd for the QF B747-8 in the What-If Air category

Now I see why you have been on a finishing frenzy, great stuff, and glad to see you were able to pump up the numbers in the Airliner Category

Excellent stuff. What kit was the Colonial Navy Phantom built from ? I have photos of that zap ( Air Classics mag from wayback) and was thinking about doing one myself one day !

I know the builder and have asked him for the details on the build...

From the builder

Kit was a Tamiya F-4J, I used Eduard cockpit and some exterior bits, 3D print of the exhausts, but scratched the widening of the rear end and intakes. I also used Wolf Packs flaps and slats to save some time, and the rocket pods from a revel Hunter. Decals were a mix of Peters handy work, and masks I had made by Merkit (I think thats them). Otherwise it was a lot of extra plastic, scratch fin tip and filler.. lots of filler
