1/72 Airfix P-51D - FINISHED :) :) :)

Me again. This is the new tool 1/72 Airfix P-51D. I'm doing this OOB except for those awesome paper seat belts from Red Roo. I'm going with the kit decals as well so it'll be an aircraft from the 100th FS (Tuskegee Airmen) at Ramitelli, Italy Dec '44. I tried a different primer while I was in TSV but it's not smooth enough to use under Alclad. I also tried to fill the required panel lines on the wings but it didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped. It probably had something to do with trying to fix them after spraying the Tamiya primer over the top. Oh well. The way my modelling is going at the moment, it's lucky I haven't screwed it up yet. Here's a couple of pics so far :)

Yeah mate. I don't get what all the fuss is about it breaking. I reckon those that have broken it are just rough blokes :P  :P  :P

Looks alright. Did you read the paper written about the red tails that basically busted all the myths surrounding them?

The kit decals only have 2 anyway so that's what's going on it :) BTW I was just taking the piss. I haven't read the paper you mention :P

Here it is all decaled up. The decals went down without a drama. After the decals have dried and been clear coated I might put a wash over it. Still not decided on that 1. I still have a few bits to paint and then it'll be on the home stretch. My little man wanted his Dusty in the pic as well :)
