Hi guys. With Ray's permission I'm starting this thread so that anyone that's interested in the Falklands War can discuss it here in 1 central location. I'll make a model thread soon. Have fun peeps :)

And I am still slowly ploding along on a 1:144th Argy Air Force 707-300C, ("TC-91"....the jet that very nearly got its self shot down by a couple of SHARs).

I know it wasn't cool but the SHAR's shoulda made it into a artificial reef. Not the done thing I know :)

Yep......all is fair in love and war, especially when you are the aggressor!!
Apparently the Argy 707 fleet was the reason the poms very quickly moded the Nimrods to carry AIM-9Ls. Couldn't you just imagine what an Argy 707 v RAF Nimrod dog-fight would have looked like :D

Just read the Brits fired four Sea Darts at one 707 so the arggies decided to keep them away.

Here is the incident that motivated my interest for this build

Image

The Boeing 707 in question (in this case photographed at RAAF Base Fairbairn in 1988...please excuse the quality  )

The model progress so far... encompassing a Welsh fuselage and horizontal stabs, with Minincraft wings, and Contrails/InFormation after-market resin JT3D-3B engines (this hybrid should theoretically give me the "perfect" 1:144th Boeing 707-300C)

If that's the book I think it is, it's a cracker. Nice 707 as well mate :)
