I HAVE FINALLY TOUCHED A MODEL FOR THE FIRDT TIME IN 3 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was worried I'd forgotten how to build. I have a few things I wanna build but with 12 on the go, I need to finish something. I started this a while ago when I developed an interest in PR Spitfires, mainly due to the uniqueness and pretty colours. This is a conversion of the now older tool 1/48 Tamiya Mk1 kit using a Pavla conversion. The main conversion tasks are removing the guns and panel lines, drilling camera ports in the wings and a PR canopy. It appears Pavla have the incorrect roundels for this particular aircraft in the conversion but more research on this is needed. This aircraft was the first Spitfire to carry out a recon mission way back in '39 and will be painted in Camotint aka Sky. Hopefully I'll have the wings and tail on by the end of next week before heading back to POM for another 3 week tour.Anyway here's where it's at so far :)

Lots of sanding

Looks good! What's the purpose of the wires attached to the seat harness?

Thanks mate. The wire is to simulate the cable that connects the shoulder harness to the airframe :)

Thanks for the info; good to know for future Spit builds.

Been plodding along with this thing for a while now. Sanding those wings was a PITA but ya get that. I also drilled the holes for the cameras in the wings and used Little Lens to simulate them. They'll be painted with some different clear colours after all the airframe painting has been completed. I also had to scratch up an air vent under each wing which wasn't that difficult. The wings and stabs were then fitted to the fuse and gaps filled. A bit more dicking around is required and then it'll be primer and paint time.
