this is one of my two current projects,a production Ryan F2R-1 Darkshark,kike the F5U Flapjack this is being done for a model groups Group build..twins it's a mixed powered fighter with both a turboprop and jet engine.

it's the quite old Czechmodels 1/48 kit that actually hasn't been a bad build so far.

well i was right...so it's a Czech model's Ryan F2R-1 Darkshark of VF-41"firebirds" of Japan in 1947.

the kit was a real surprise as being an older short run kit i thought it would be a challenge,and whilst not a "shake and bake" kit it went together pretty well,not much putty or even problems with fitting all the resin interior and wheel wells,overall an enjoyable build...paint a little less so(if i can help it i wont be using testors acrylic again) but the end result i cant complain about,the scheme is based on the prototype with markings for the one Fireball squadron that made it to service and nearly took the fireball into action.
