New from F-27pax

A place for our military aviation modellers to show their stuff. It may not be civil but it still has a home here

While down in Melbourne recently I treated myself to some of these newfangled (for me) acrylic paint sets to see what they're like. It's a pleasant diversion being able to paint a model in a night so I'm quite enjoying the experience. Here are my first three experiments in the genre: Airfix F4F-4, Dragon Meteor F.1 and Amodel Vampire F.1

Nice work Leigh - hand painted or airbrushed?

Glad you like them, gents. Both hand painted apart from the canopies and the upper/lower demarkation lines on the RAF jets. Even then, just a line of tape to show me where to paint. All done in an evening. If I was doing them airbrushed I'd spend the best part of a night just going the masking.

PS The RAF jets are the AK interactive RAF Camouflages set and the F4F is the Italeri WW2 US Navy set.
