ICM Polikarpov I-5
Another silver wings Soviet type. This little beauty was designed in the late 1920s when Polikarpov was in prison convicted of treason because the aircraft industry wsn't performing a quickly as Uncle Joe wanted it to. Tupolev was imprisoned at the same time as were many other russian designers. This particular I-5 is the personal mount of Ivan U. Pavlov when he was the commander of the VVS's Moscow Military District in the early 1930s. It's a nice little kit which does have a few idiosyncrasies but it went together fairly easily. It did suffer a heavy landing just before the pinting stage (the ice cream container it was in fell out of my hands onto the ground) hence the bent interplane struts.
