Ok after not touching a model in about 8 weeks, last nights adventure with Dad's Sabre got the mojo back a bit. I put the last decal on the Sabre this morning and then thought about what to do next. Well the Hornet has been patiently waiting for me to pull my finger out and put some decals on now for over 4 months. So I did pull said finger out. The Airfix DH88 decals have gone on very nicely so far though 1 part of the rego underneath the wing has wrinkled a bit cos I put waaaaaay too much One Go on. It's underneath so who cares? I'm really, really happy with how this thing looks in this red and white scheme. It's actually a lot brighter red than the pics show. Where the DH88 looks pretty and says "Excuse me. Can I pass please?", this thing just screams "GTFO of my way MOFO". After the decals are dry I'll hit it with a couple of coats of One Go to get it all nice and shiny. Then paint the wheel wells and undercarriage and it'll be almost done. I've come up with a cunning plan for the spinners and props but I'm keeping it under wraps for the time being in case I screw it up Ok here's some pics

Man, that is all kinds of kick ass! A cool "fictional" driver for this would be Capt. Eric "Winkle" Brown - he loved the Hornet, one of his all time fav aeroplanes.
Ok it's been a while since I've posted an update of any sort on anything I have on the go. This is almost finished and will be done by Tuesday I reckon. Just gotta paint the props with Alclad and she'll be done. I might do that while my little man is at a birthday party. I'm reasonably happy with how it's come out. Here's where it's up to at the moment
