HK Models 1/32 Do 335B-2

Howdy folks,

This is my latest completion, hot off the bench as of yesterday (though technically I'm still performing touch-ups as we speak). It's the HK Models 1/32 Do 335B-2 kit, and it's an absolute monster! I received this kit as a test shot, sans instructions, decals, nose weights, photo-etched parts, and a few corrections that made it into the production kit. I robbed a few parts from the production kit to finish it off, so the end result is a mix of both kits.

The only aftermarket I used were the seat belts from HGW, the duralumin manufacturer stamp decals from MDC, and the cowl gun blast tubes from Albion alloys. It's a great and highly-detailed kit, but also a challenging one. My next one will be all closed up!

I'm afraid that's all the photos I'm going to leave you with folks, as this build will be published in an upcoming issue of AIR Modeller. I'd better get cracking on the article!

Happy New Year everyone.

What an absolute beauty Kev - very impressive! I'm sure it's even more so in the flesh! You have finished it perfectly. Is this the RLM 81/82/76 scheme? One can do one's head in with how the big Arrow's were actually painted. I found in one reference book a photo of a shot up prototype "A" ("05") with what very much appeared to be the 81/82/76 scheme, so I reckon you totally nailed the correct finish on your big "B" bird. Did you use Gunze paint? Great work with the artist oils - great fun isn't it.
Your big Arrow gets a 6 out of 6 prop blades from me! Must subscribe to Air Modeller and looking forward to reading that article.
