This is the 1/72 Frog DH Hornet F.Mk.3 I'm currently doing up here in Townsville. It's OOB except I drilled the guns out and removed all the raised panel lines for a sleeker look. It'll be silver with decals from who knows where. I've yet to figure that bit out. It's gone together surprisingly well so far given the kit's vintage. Much better thn a certain 1/72 DH Comet some of us know and love No where near as much filler that's for sure. There's not much detail to speak of but then it is ancient. I've been taken by the shape of this plane and I can't wait to get a Trumpeter one no matter what the flog............. I mean rivet counters say. I hope to get a bit more done today and tomorrow if the real planes would stop making me work

For a little, old Frog kit she is clearly holding her age well. Paul, I have two words for you.....AIR RACER , (couldn't you just imagine this thing whipping around the Reno pylons). TOR
Well it seems Ray has got his way. It's been decided that this will be a 'Grosvenor House' WIF. Paul (oz rb fan) has already 'Black Magic' but as we all know red goes faster So I had to buy yet another Airfix DH88 kit just for the decals but lucky they're not that expensive. So the beasty finally got a coat of paint of Tamiya X-7 red (just like my racing Macchi). Here it is so far

Does indeed look very fast! One of the "WIF" pilots could have been Eric "Winkle" Brown perhaps? The Hornet was one of his fav aeroplanes to fly - one of the 400+ he flew, not a bad effort huh.
Out of interest, is that airbrushed or rattle can? Finish looks great!
