On 10/3/88 whilst practicing for the Canberra Air Show, Roulette 1, Macchi A7-054 being flown by Sqn Ldr Jeff Trappett was collided into by Roulette 4 A7-049. The practice was being filmed by Channel 10 at the time. Jeff managed to land 054 whilst the pilot of 049 ejected safely.
This is my second and better rendition of Jeff's A7-054 using the 1/48 Italeri/ESCI kit but this time with OzMods cockpit, flaps, wing tanks and front uc leg. Decals are from; Hawkeye, Aussie Decals, kit and nose numbers, serials and name plate are homemade (Name pletes courtesy of Noel Barnes). 2 x Wolfpack resin Mk4 upgrade seats, homemade aerials and some CMK nav lights on the tanks wrap it up.
