it's a build for an up coming John Baxter alternate RAAF in the SW Pacific book
so in our heads the Beaufort never went into production in Australia...DAP started with Beaufighter's...being an early one it has the flat tailplanes, and because of possible shipping problams we also reengined ours with R2800's :o

the kit is the VERY old frog MK1 beaufighter, with a few minor interior upgrades (airfix instrument panel and scratch built control column) the gun cupola is a resin one from a JU88 P2,with brass 40mm bofors barrels and the engines and cowls are from Quickboost for the monogram F7F,the decals are from the DK decals sheet, the markings are for a real aircraft flown by the uncle of our current Governor General Sir Peter Cosgrove...Bill Cosgrove,he was a former Richmond VFL footballer and named all his planes "eat em alive" and used the richmond football club mascot as his nose art.

and with two later models P&W powered beau's i have built...all frog kits

Not too far removed from a CAC proposal for an anti-tank aircraft equipped with a 40mm Bofor buried in the nose. The aircraft was christened by Uncle Les and me as the CACATAC. The model is an Uncle Les resin.
The proposal had Woomera outer wing panels, two Wirraway engines, Boomerang canopy and a 20mm rearward firing cannon controlled by the crewman under the cupola. He also acted as Bofor's loader. The colour scheme is hypothetical.
