A shelf of Doomer resurrected. This is the LF 1/48 kit. I fritzed up the windows which I tried to fill with clear resin but got heaps of bubbles in them.. no good, and I wasnt happy with the window hole shape. Fitting the cockpit transparency was also a real bugger and its heavy and somewhat out of scale framing complicated matters. So I finished it as best I could

I just want to add my congratulations of a beautiful looking model. I didn't notice the windows until i read your comment on them so you have done alright there. I like the smoothness of the finish and the shade of green you used. How did you do the decals to get everything the same shade?

hiya, thanks for your kind comments, the key to getting all the greens a uniform colour is to create all the elements of the decal sheet in the same program. These were entirely created in "Inkscape" Once I guessed which shade of green would come up OK against the cream paint of the model I used a colour pick tool to apply that colour to the text. lines and rectangles I created. When I was learning this decal design thing I was always mixing and matching the programs I used to create the art work, eg I could do rounded corner rectangles in powerpoint but had to do other things in Corel or photoshop, consequently often the colour shades were a real mish mash. Just as an aside the cockpit framing is done in silver painted decal as are the outer wing join fairing strips just outboard of the undercarriage. Those cabin windows are decals again created in inkscape,

cheers
