Here are photos of the completed X-1 operated by NACA during 1949.

Modifications/additions:

RB productions seatbelts
Airscale photo etch bezels
Airscale decal instruments

Scratchbuilt:

3 x pitot tubes
2 x scoops aft fuselage
re-scribed.
Rocket nozzles

Decals:

Kit insignia etc
MH Models stencils.

I used Mr Surfacer white 1000 spray to paint the aircraft, followed by Tamiya clear for the gloss coat. Polished to a high sheen using Tamiya compounds and wax.

Enjoy!

I like to do some fun shots at the end of taking photos of my models.

24 years apart and both very much built to go fast and push the boundaries. Both gloss white civil machines!

And in its new home. Its getting full in there! 7 of these models were completed in the last 12 months.

This shelf is all about gloss n glamour.

Great models...nice case!
Tell me...how often do you need to dust the planes to keep them looking good?

Hi Salty,

Not very often, the case is fairly air tight. Considering 7 of them are less than a year old, they have barely had enough time for any dust to settle.

Eric.

Just superb Eric!!!.....I never get tired of looking at your masterpieces. I always seem to notice another amazing detail or two I hadn't seen before.
Your models all look magnificent in that display cabinet.
Thanks for posting
