Racing Sailplane SZD 41 Jantar Standard

This was made from an early 1980's Polish kit of a Polish glider, the SZD 41 Jantar Standard. It's a "what if" basically. I created the livery from imagination and used old decals from race car kits. Painted with shithouse acrylic "craft paints" and finally finished off with matte clear. I delighted in putting many combustion engine and likewise related advertisements on it.

Thanks! Pretty fun build aside from the canopy being oversized in every dimension. Fixing THAT was a PITA but otherwise a fairly straight forward affair. I have another somewhere that I'd like to make into a third racer.

Nice job Brad, this is one subject that I would not build myself but I enjoy seeing other's efforts.

Thank you, Ray. I have noticed that these sorts of gliders aren't everyone's' cup of tea.

Thanks!! Stuff like that has certain "mainstream" builders shaking their head and thinking I'm a tool but I think it's great fun. Most of these adverts would never be anywhere near something with no engine, racing or not, which is exactly why I put them there!
