The Amsco Parasol Monoplane, based on the Heath Parasol, built by Percy Pratt of Geelong in 1929. power- 34 HP ABC Scorpion. Wing span approximately 26 ft.

What a lovely,delicate bit of modelling. It looks so light it could fly.

If I might be so bold a to ask, where did you get the information for this model. I ask this because you may be able to point me in a useful direction for a project I have in mind. It is this. In 1929 the Pratt brothers made a glider that was the beginning of the gliding/soaring movement in Australia. It was apparently made to German plans and I think it might have been a Granu Baby or some such name. I managed to pick up a Huma kit of a Granu 9 and I would like to be able to convert that kit back to the glider that the Pratt Brothers made. So if you have any ideas that might help me on this I'd appreciate it.

Hi Leigh,
The drawings were obtained from the DB-Design Bureau site but there are no plans for the glider you inquired about. There are references to Percy Pratt's involvement in the early gliding scene and the fact that he built 19 gliders in the book Australian Built Aircraft and Industry by K.R.Meggs. Possibly the one you are asking about is the single seat American Baker-McMillan Cadet design, steel frame fuselage, wooden flying surfaces. The only photo is that of a skeletal frame. Maybe an approach to the Geelong Gliding Club or the Gliding Museum will help.
