Didn't someone use the Bandai YS-11 as a basis for a HS-748 years ago?

Or was it someone looked into it but gave it away as a bad joke as they were too different?

Fred Harris based his HS748 on the YS-11 kit. You might have seen it in the Avro display at Expo

I would have thought that, apart from a superficial resemblance, the YS-11 and HS-748 would be too different from each other to replicate one from the other. But then Fred always was a creative magician when it came to "outside the box" model engineering.

Wasn't he going on about the difference between staging and basing ? correct me if I'm wrong , but if an aircraft is at an airport, isn't it there . Weather it is staging or basing ??? Just saying
There was also a comment about his saving of the community in Kyneton .........he certainly gets around
