Revell Fokker F100 coming along

The Fellowship of the Fokker, a very long journey

I started this in 2001 while in Southport Lancashire (called Merseyside by some).

I was staying with my Mother in Law, and pretty much bored so got this kit, some bog, and went and got it together rather quickly, now the original Revell decals were for the Demonstrator, not very exciting or good, so I got myself a set of Korean Air decals by Liveries Unlimited, nice I thought.

When I got back home to Australia I went through my blue paints, and decided I would have to mix something like Korean Blue, as it didn't exist in the Xtracolors range at that time, now let me point out there are some very talented painters who can mix colours in a heartbeat, I'm not one of them, not even close, and when I started to put the decals on I realized how rubbish I was, so sanded it down with the intention of making it KLM, another blue, and another big mistake, so put it away.

I found this part finished when cleaning up my modeling room these last few weeks, and after a 20 month forced layoff caring for my wife, and now that I am able to get back into modelling, I thought this would be the one to kick start me on the path.

Somewhere along the way, I must have painted the wings and tailplane, and they looked quite good, nice I thought, so just need to paint the fuselage white, and I'm a goer, now I managed to get a set of decals for this one, and this is my photo

First up, what I'm aiming for

The decals are done so the blue and yellow are decals, so I thought to paint it, so paint the fin in yellow, mask the design and paint blue, how hard could it be ;)

As you might be able to see the first attempt was rubbish, so respray the fin

and tomorrow or the nest few days will have another go.

This time I printed the decal sheet onto some gloss paper, and have managed to get a good one for one side

OK, have just managed to get back into this, after the holiday thing

Tail painted

As Airliner modellers know, putting decals on can be a slow job, as you have to wait for them to dry before you can put others on, and you can only do one side at a time, so, L1 door, and some E Exits, rego, which I somehow managed to stuff up one of the F's

Now with windows and titles, starting to look the goods

ooooh I like that!

Jeez I'd love a 1/72 F-28, I'd settle for a F100 to convert

That is starting to look excellent. Congratulations of the Alliance scheme too.

I have decals for a Skywest Fokker 100 which I would like to get around to some time sooner than later.
