Building the Revell kit for a 'Made in Britain' GB over on BrittModeller

I am using this decal sheet

Image

..and a Revell 146 Graeme so graciously released from his collection :D

Started by scratch building the countermeasures pods for the jet from a 1/72 AIM7 Sparrow missile

Then filled the windows in the cabin with super glue and assembled the wing

Gear bays and engines assembled (B777 engine for size comparison)

Fuselage went together without fuss

Engines also on the wings without hassle

and a test fit of wing to fuselage

Some seams to be sorted and the CM pods to by tidied up before some paint.

That looks great man. I was looking at that very sheet on ebay last night. Hmmmm might have to relieve Graeme of another 146 hehehe

Hi Ray

Great work so far. Will you be doing the one Charles had the "off" in?

Cheers

Very interesting build Ray, (I have one of these set a side to do an Austrian Air Force 146).
There was a time that I thought that 34SQN would end up with at least one or two BAe-146 "Statesmen" aircraft, (seemed to be a natural BAC 111 replacement at the time), especially given the number that the Ansett Group had on order at the time, (thought Sir Peter might have done a good deal for his mate Bob Hawk).
Interesting to note that the RAF have just recently put a few more 146's into service.
Here is the story of when Prince Charles pranged a Royal Flight 146:

What's the story with what appears to be a "twin jet" C-17 "Lite"????.....it looks like a very intriguing project.

I could tell you but would have to kill you! :D

Basically botched the engines on the C-17 refurb I was doing and had a spare set of Minicraft PWs. So this will be a BC-17R in a yet to be disclosed livery

Got it primed, wing is still unattached as I though it would be easier to mask and to paint the engines and leading edges while they were separate.
