OK, I know I shouldn't yet, but here we go. Monogram's 1/41 Cessna 180 as VH-GEO. Quite a few years ago, a gentleman came into work with a roll of 9 large drawings under his arm. He'd rescued them from a skip, and wanted them scanned, and as fortune would have it, the task fell to me. (Might have had something to do with my judicious use of my elbows once I discovered what the drawings were..) The drawings in question were official TAA livery drawings, covering three different DC-3 schemes, a Bell 47J2 Helicab (if there's a model of the J2, I want it!!), a DH Drover, DC-6, Paul's all-time favourite Piper Aztec, a Cessna 182, and, of course, a Cessna 180. The -180, however, was not a TAA scheme, but rather that of the Bureau of Mineral Resources. Naturally, I made electronic copies for myself as well. Copies of the drawings also made their way to Airfix via a well-known bass player at the then VHC.
This is the only photo I've been able to find online of the aircraft - it's actually taken quite a while to find it, too....kinda stumbled on in one day. Multiple google searches for the particular aircraft had turned up nothing!

I would imagine that the interior would be Cessna standard colours from the factory...I know there's a document somewhere that specifies colours...there's another google search in my future, I think..shoulda bookmarked it when I first found it..

The drawing I have provides dimensional detail of all the paint demarkations, the lettering sizes and locations, and perhaps most importantly, the specific colours....except for the black anti-glare panel. Gonna have to wing it there..

What an absolute cracker that will be - you must build this - it is your destiny!

Cheers

So I've since found another two photos, one colour, one black and white. Also discovered that the registration was passed to a Bell 206 which crashed in 1995, and is currently assigned to a H-36 Dimona.....wonder if there's a model kit?

Found my interior colours....I joined a Cessna 172 forum a while back, and posed a question about standard factory interiors. One member was good enough to post a brochure from 1959. VH-GEO was registered new to the bureau in 1959, so I think it would be a reasonable assumption that one of these schemes (even though for a 172) would likely have been fitted. I'm going for the top one.
