Bloody photobucket! Down for maintenance, so I can't post any pics!
Still, I've decided on this one not to wire it up, and I probably won't wire up my other one either, because adding the motor means there's practically no room for nose weight, and this baby needs a lot! 40 small sinkers in the engine bay...
Anyhow, I've added the weight, and started buttoning her up. Pics to follow once photobucket gets their shite together..

Finally photobucket's back up..
I spent a little bit of time today figuring out how to glue the top of the cabin, which wouldn't align naturally. It had a bit of a gap at the seam, and the right side was slightly higher than the left side. I tried taping it all together and clamping it, none of which worked. In the end, I aligned them by hand and judiciously super-glued them together before reinforcing the join with liquid cement. The canopy bow is a bit different given it's so small. I'm thinking I'll have to glue in the windscreen and carefully glue the bow to the back of the screen. *sigh*
Anyhow, on to the photos..

In this one, you can see the amount of nose weight I've added. Each side has 20 small sinkers and a huge wad of Blutac.

Here, you can see the large gap and misalignment of the top of the cabin..

All glued together now...I still have to add the front of the cowl, and the battery hatch underneath.

Looking forward to the IP. The tape's really come up well simulating carpet!

Looking back into the cabin..

Well, I think I've screwed up...
I went to dry fit the windscreen, and found a sizeable gap at the top of the screen. At first I thought the windscreen was short shot, but the gap looks too even for that. Then I remembered some flash I'd sanded from the frame ages ago....only it wasn't flash! How to fix, how to fix....

Easy - just fill with a bit of plastic card - undo/redo that "flash" - no biggy, or as one US POTUS contender says "biggly"! :D

So I've reluctantly glued the windscreen in place. When I dry fit it, it seemed to fit OK, but now it's bloody awful. I'm going to have to remove it and ponder the situation a little - possibly make a new screen, which will be a first for me. I only hope the rest of the windows fit better!

Can you file/sand the windscreen down and then polish it? That to me sounds less work than say vacu-forming a new one.

Nope....the windscreen's a tad too small!

Use it as a master to vac-form another then.
