Thanks guys, I finished her up today with a brown Mig wash and semi-gloss seal.
The splinter paint scheme has a few minor blemishes, but for an OOB build that I jumped into for a bit of fun and to add some colour to my shelf, It's met its goals.
Thats the work bench cleared for 2014. All projects done. My next build is ready to begin, but I'm going to take a few days to relax before I start it. I'm going to set up a photo studio tomorrow and take some decent photos of all of my recent projects, so expect some better photos to follow.
Very impressive. Great result for a bit of fun as you say. You have certainly captured that formidable look that the big Suk's have. I have a cool video on Su-27's and towards the end, a former British test pilot is interviewed and relates a story about the first time the big Suk was seen at the Paris airshow. A young Belgium F-16 pilot was interviewed and asked what he would do if he saw a Su-27 in combat. His answer - "Eject!".
Great job Troy....she really looks the part. There is something very menacing and formidable about the big Suk, and your build really emphasises that look. Even if I were an F-15, F-14, or F-22 driver, I would still be a little nervous and wary of the big SU-27. I think in the right hands she would be a deadly opponent!! TOR
Thanks again guys. OK, I just finished taking my final photos for my last few builds and I thought I'd share them here, even though you must be getting sick of the same planes being posted again and again. Last time I promise.
