when it is too hot in the garage or I need a break from masking or whatever, I play with decal design, this is for my RP-3D build

Nice!!!!
So, in addition to the Concorde and NASA GBs, we now clearly also have a P-3 GB underway :D

Hi Adam...haven't glued it on yet, I figured I was gonna knock it off accidentally while I was swinging it around and applying tons of filler around the back and over the wings. I managed to crack the visor transparency but got a replacement from Airfix.. gotta muster the energy to reshape glue and fair the new one into the nose. When the separate nose is sweet and the rest of the airframe is sweet then I'll join em together and apply the tons of filler that will be required to join them. But I want to finish 2 connies and a P-3 before I restart on that fiasco.

I have been beavering away in the garage.. Jean has gone off to the UK for a month leaving me batching it. Hence my work bench has spread out into other rooms...shhhhh!

The Orion has been a real bugger, bugger of a paint sheme, loads of masking and my model master international red enamel came out of the brush too rough for my liking and had to strip the colour off the wings and remasked and tried again, this time with Tamiya rattle can. Still a bit of masking to go.. I buggered the windscreen but have a replacement coming from Hasegawa via Toy Traders in Sydney.
Th L749 is almost finished, I lay down some future do a bit of weathering then do the undercarriage aerials etc.
The L1049 will get a bit of variation in the metal tones on the fuselage south of the cheat line position then I will mask up for spraying of the white top. Other WIPs wait their turn sitting atop my next planned UK walk material (I will be doing the South West Coastal Path this year) The Sukhoi is well outside the Venn diagram that is defines my modelling tastes but I had it in my stash and and just a mean looking machine. The Savoia is a conversion of the SM82 kit, and the Cherokee well that is just waiting for me to give it some attention. A 1/72 Concorde gathers dust on a shoe rack, I'll start on that again after this lot.

The RP-3D is looking good Wally, I have repainted mine twice now, and it is getting ready for attempt number 3 when I get the motivation.

Not sure if mentioned before but what scheme will the L1049 be in?

Oh and I was wondering if I could get a set of the 'Paisano Tres' titles if you are making them? My Microscale sheet has the road runner logos but no 'ship name'. It wore the Paisano Tres' on its visit to Fairbairn when I saw it. As usual happy to pay for printing and postage.

hiya Ray,
L1049 gonna be KLM Flying Dutchman.
I hadn't noticed that the Paisano Tres titles were not on the decal sheet so I will certainly knock some home made decals up for it.. I have just about done the walkways and I will have to knock up a few "NAVY" titles which are also absent from the sheet...I have the USN font so that will not be a problem as well the "02" titles on the fin top. I will make copies for you and fling them over

cheers

Many thanks Wally, Are the NAVY titles for the wings? I suspect that the kit decals would be used there.

That aircraft - 158227, has had a number of different paint variations and antenna configurations while it was the Project Magnet bird.

It finally reverted to standard USN colours back in 2005 when it was regenerated from AMARG after 2 years of storage.
