Old Airfix boxes

Postby hrtpaul » Tue Nov 09, 2021 9:24 am

Hey peeps. I was wondering if anyone had any old vintage 1/144 and 1/72 Airfix kit box tops, 1970's and earlier they didn't want anymore. I'm chasing the old school painted box art as I want to decorate the model cave with said box tops. Below is an example of what I'm looking for. I don't need the whole box, just the top with the boxart on it. Let me know. Thanks guys :)

Great idea. I can't see the Image but I understand what you are after. I'll have a look.

Not 'Im but I was also thinkin Matchbox (can't recall the main Artists name at the moment) as a lot of them are very evocative.

Whatshisname that did a lot of the Hasegawa Boxart did some stunners too. I think there was a Book somewhere (and there was definitely one or two or three Books on the Airfix and Matchbox Boxarts too).

That is a great idea, when I first started building I would throw the box top artwork into a scrap book. I wish I still had it.

I used to keep all the box tops but there got to be so many of them that I had to dispose of them when we moved. Scanned most of them though for old times sake.
